Who is Siury?
I am a mom to two daughters, ages 10 and 13. I moved to the Bay Area when I was pregnant with my first one, and had plenty of time to research every option under the California sun. Plus, I had recently graduated with a master’s degree in education policy from Harvard Graduate School of Education (HGSE). So, what could go wrong, right? Let me tell you that figuring schooling options for my children has been one of the hardest part of my immigration story.
In the process, I have tried many schooling option, including Montessori, public, private, charter, hybrid, and homeschooling. After years of talking to parents, teachers, and school leaders, I figured there is a way to navigate this complex journey and make decisions from a place of confidence, not fear.
Finding the right school environment for our children was possible for me, and it could be possible for you, too.
